First degree burns and their causes

First-degree burns do not cause water bubbles to appear or any major physiological changes on the skin, except that the skin becomes dry, and there are a number of reasons that lead to first-degree burns, the most important of which are:

  • Exposing the skin to a high temperature or touching a very hot medium.
  • Exposure to hot steam.
  • Skin contact with very hot liquids.
  • Exposure to sunlight for a long time.

First degree burn treatment

This type of burn can be treated as follows:

  • Remove the injured directly from the source of the fire.
  • Provide first aid to the injured person when he is exposed to a burn immediately without underestimating the issue. The first thing to do is to place the affected area under cold water - not ice water or ice - for a few minutes, as this will cool the area and limit the spread of the burn.
  • Keep the burn clean and wash it gently with soap and water without rubbing it.
  • Monitor breathing because in certain cases there may be shortness of breath.
  • Apply an ointment for burns - an antibiotic - on the burn.
  • Cover the burn with a sterile gauze so that it does not get contaminated and keep it away from the air.

  • Use sunscreen creams to avoid sunburn.

Healing from first-degree burns takes 6 to 7 days, and natural household ingredients can be used to treat first-degree burns, such as vinegar diluted with water, as it helps numb the area of ​​pain and relaxes the skin tissues, and this is done by moistening a piece of gauze with diluted vinegar, and placing it on the skin , so that the process is repeated whenever the person feels pain, and tea bags can be used with cold water as a treatment for burns, and there is a natural product consisting of beeswax, which is famous in the treatment of burns of the first degree.

Other degrees of burns

As for other types of burns, they are of two types, second and third degrees. Second-degree burns affect the outer layer of the skin, and this is accompanied by severe pain and redness, with swelling of the burned skin, swelling and moist watery bubbles, while third-degree burns are burns that reach the entire layers of the skin and the soft tissues under the skin. To the bones, the place of the burn appears brown or black and is very painful, especially if the burn reaches the nerve endings scattered on the surface of the skin and leaves scars and disfigurement of the skin.
